Hi Delanna,

Thanks for posting with us. I have not experienced a sigmoid colon thickening. This is the first I have heard about such a thing. I would assume the thickening is noticed from a change from a prior CT scan result? I see it could be an inflammation issue. What did your gastro team say about it and what's the plan moving forward?

I do hope there are others on this site which may have experienced something like this. Perhaps they can contribute some insight here.

Thank you,

Hi thank you for your response. It only revealed edema and sigmoid colon thickening and recommended colonoscopy

"recommended" ... If it were me, I'd go ahead and get the colonoscopy. That would be playing it safe on the side of knowing rather than speculating what's going on.

I have a history with the word "recommended" in my medical journey. 😂. In 2012 it was "recommended" I get genetic testing. I did it. I didn't think it did much for me at the time. It wasn't covered by insurance. In 2014 it was what got me included in a game changing clinical trial. So, the genetic testing was the most important thing I did and it was a "recommendation"🤔

yes of course I will go for colonoscopy but I have high anxiety of the procedure … I would accept whatever it is in the long run but the whole procedure scares me lol. I mean I have so many symptoms which bothers me it is always constant
