Is anyone suffering from a very painful shoulder, the pain starts at the top of the shoulder and progresses down my arm towards the hand.?

Yes I do. I went to see my doc and he refered me to the Physio who told me it was my bicep weakening. I was given tips on coping with it. If I lift a kettle I lift keeping my arm against my side to support it. I was also given a long elastic thing to do exercises with it. Pulling it up by putting my foot on one end and pulling. Best advice is to see a physiotherapist.

I have painful shoulders but it radiates through my back for me, not so much down my arm, so a different issue I think xxx

I agree with Jackie, off to the GP for a Physio referral I'd have thought. x

I've had this problem for a while now. My distal bicep weakened and gave in whilst at Tescos lifting a crate of san miguel out of the trolley. A quick repair operation followed two days later with months of recovery. My strength is weak, but my physio has recommended low impact exercises, small water bottle straight arm lifts, bent arm lifts, out from side and from the side. Effective in keeping some tone up, but doesn't stop the atrophy, only slows it down.
