Pain and stuff that you rub in

I’ve seen TV ads about stuff that you can rub in the relieve pain, and there have been posts about Dynamint.

I’d very much like to know, from those of this community who use this kind of product, your experience. Does it have immediate effect? A long term effect (e.g. rubbing it in daily and after four weeks things seem a little better? No effect? What’s your experience? Then I’ll share mine!
