How Do You Manage Your Treatment Side Effects?
I am in a trial for ACP-196 (Acalabrutinib), and my team is constantly checking on my side effects. I deal with the painful ones with Tylenol and caffeine which helps mute the worst of it. The headaches and myalgia have diminished over time, but after six months are still here. I also have a lot of joint pain, but I'm not sure if that's just my age, or if it's exacerbated by the meds. I've also had bouts of pneumonia and diverticulitis, which are a real challenge with a compromised immune system.
I find it especially interesting that you use caffeine to help with your side effects, do you feel it has been beneficial in helping migraines? Also, a compromised immune system is a common problem when fighting CLL, check out this video if you want about how to stimulate your immune system! patientpower.info/video/sti...
