Our local oncologists, who are not involved in trials, could do a lot in assisting us in finding appropriate trials, advising, and watching over us while we are on trial drugs and traveling to distant centers. I would have had much more confidence in going for a trial if my doctor had supported me in this way. Being out on my own without any advocacy has been very stressful.

How about encouraging more doctors and hospitals to host clinical trials.

I live in Florida and despite the elderly population and the density, it is woefully behind the times.

The drug companies should provide complete expenses, total care, and a case manager to oversee each patient. Maybe even pay the volunteers. There is a lot of money to be made if the drugs prove successful. The patients should have a stress free and inexpensive experience.
