Hi Mandie, I was prescribed this to help with pains that I Get with my condition. I was a bit sceptical for the same reasons as you. I was so exhausted from lack of sleep that I gave it ago. I have been sleeping soundly since and I have had no side effects.

Thanks really helpful and happy to hear you didn’t get side effects. We’re you on 10mg a night also I don’t no the best time to take one as I don’t want to feel groggy in the morning.

They help me a lot - although my pain docincreased the dose to 3 tablets over the next few months. Partly to help the pain, which it does enormously well, and also because he says it is a draining condition, he thinks the tiny bit of anti-depressant it will give will help my mental health to deal with the horribleness of the pain; mine is caused by nerve damage in an accident, and affects pretty much all the right hand side of my face. Yes it is scary, but it does work really well.

Thanks for replying and yes I’m very scared of taking them but without trying them to see if they help with my teeth and gum pain would be stupid. Did you get any side effects and if so how bad were they as I’m disabled so need to feel safe as my mobility is terrible .

I am disabled too - the pain is a result of damage to a spinal nerve damage after an accident. I don't have any side effects that I am aware of - they first gave gabapentin. Massive side effects. But the amytryptaline is fine. If you are scared, perhaps take it when someone can be in hour home overnight and during the day to first time you take it. Good luck xxx
