Vitamin K2 Is Important for Cardiovascular Health
The Rotterdam Study found that those who consumed the greatest amounts of K2 had the lowest risk of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular calcification, and the lowest chance of dying from cardiovascular disease. This was a profound discovery, because such a correlation did not exist for K1 intake. Later on, other studies also showed that while K2 has health benefits, K1 has none. That’s when the investigation into the differences between K1 and K2 began in earnest.

Did they say why it was inappropriate? Found it an interesting article and we make our own decisions on whether we put the information into action or not. I understand the Japanese have low rates of heart disease. Possibly because they consume natto which is high in vitamin K2.
I have a number of questions to ask at the annual conference, now another question to my list "K2".
When I asked if I could put my questions before hand to save time and prepare answers, I was informed that the web site has all the necessary information!

It's because they are mindless idiots who do as they are told without using their own brain cells, and also because it serves their own financial interests (getting a bonus for putting patients on various registers etc). I sympathise with you re your anxiety. It is truly dreadful to work people up in this way. Anyway, don't worry. What they've told you is probably hogwash.

I think this is appropriate, especially if some of the recent research is correct. I have recently read that warfarin causes calcification in rats, and Japanese research has found that Atorvastatin can limit (stop) Co Enzyme Q10 & K2 production. Thus information on K2 is certainly NOT inappropriate as it has been shown to reverse calcification in rats I believe.
Hi, all statins limit COQ10 production, because COQ10 is made by the same process that makes cholesterol in your liver, the mevalonate pathway. Statins interfere with the top of this pathway, so all the end products are reduced by them - the higher the dose, the more the pathway will be suppressed.

hi i have just sent for k2 as it is suppose to help with inflammation in the joints as i have bad ostio, anyway i watch a young doctor talking on the net, that one of the members suggests we listen to, and i found he was the only person that seemed to make sense, regarding high cholesterol and joint pain his advice was eat anything that eaten grass as cows, you get full fat butter milk cheese i believe the best cheese for k2 is brie gouda and edam if k2 can take calcium to the area,s where it is required such as the bones and teeth and stops it sticking to arteries where it can cause damage and also help with inflammation then i have nothing to loose
Another useless quack article that can't be bothered to cite its source materials properly. There is no useful information in that link yet beyond the basic healthy eating message that most of us know anyway.
