Put 'understanding aortic aneurysms' into youTube and there are a lot of informational videos there.

Also on NHS choices. Your bleed vessels are like when a bicycle tyre over inflates. It can be put right. If there's no follow up then they're not too worried. I imagine it will be checked regularly and will be treated when needed. I'm a little surprised no one made sure you were aware of it and it's implications. My mum had one done 5 years ago. she's 82

My 47 year old daughter passed away. VERY suddenly ,fronm a brain aneurism , the head (and top ) neurologist told me that one third of all people are born with some sort of aneurism and of that about one third will cause a problem. Mostly, when they do act up, they are not fixable. Some people do survive them but the rate is low and of course depends on the type of aneurism. As aneurism's are hereditary, some doctor's believe one should be tested, if there is any history in the family, but our specialist said "why would you want to know...it is like knowing a time bomb is ticking and most of the time nothing can be done about it until the eruption. I decided that I would not go for tests and none of my other children or grandchildren have either but I know that every time my grandson has a headache , he thinks of his mother and wonders if it is happening to him. I do not think that way. I am too positive for that. Have a lot of pain issues, but do not ever think "aneurism."

My mother had an aortic aneurism but it was not operable. She died at age 72' but not from that.

Best to keep a positive attitude and try to eat a healthy diet...

Hello,

If you Google AAA, (Abdominal Aortic Aneurism) you will get a lot of information, I did do post on AAA after reading in the copy of the mail. Soon after I did look for checking on AAA, I was able to go for a AAA locally.

An (Abdominal Aortic Aneurism) aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel caused by a weakness in the blood vessel wall. As blood passes through the weakened blood vessel, the blood pressure causes it to bulge outwards like a balloon.

You need to make an appointment with your GP, write down all the questions you need to ask and then write down all the answers.

Then there is brain aneurism as well.

Good luck.
