Carer assessment
Hello Musicsamsung77, Do you have a carers assessment booked? Its intended to assess needs you have to help meet carers responsibility for a relative , partner or friend at home. You can ask for things you think the person you care for needs if it will make it easier for you , plus other carers so you can have a break or maybe day care services , and its to acknowledge you are a carer too. There are special places for carers to meet to discuss problems arising when caring which are gradually reopening, you can be included in any reviews of care needs of the person being cared for, so I would be making notes of your needs and what is agreed at your meeting.
No I don't and I am a full time carer to our daughter as she is disabled and I am registered with the doctors and the council
That's strange if you are registered with the council as a carer, does your daughter not have care reviews? You can request a carers assessment of need on line but they are taking a time to happen as the care system is in a desperate situation. I have heard lots of desperate pleas from people like yourself , and the NHS is now much the same many people feel deserted at their hour of need. If it was not for people like you many disabled people & the sick would be sadly coping on there own. You are the unsung heroes in society often without back up. Hope you soon get things settled. Not sure what your post is for really but do take care
I care for my son who 26 and has cerebral palsy. I have an carers assessment every year, I get grant to treat myself in Eastbourne its £350.00 every year, the form is simple and you will find it online from your local council. I use my budget for yoga classes and reiki healing. Do apply it so worth it.
