Hi ling, another really interesting link, and wouldn't it be exciting if it proves that this really is the case. I expect it will need a lot more research, but anything we find which might helps us to defeat dementia is always welcome.

I do believe that prevention of the flu in the elderly is critical as they tend to get a lot sicker when they fall ill, and that in turn deteriorates their overall health.

My mom, 85, gets the annual flu jab and has also had the pneumonia jab. These jabs plus a good diet including eating sufficient protein for someone her age, and daily exercise, has been the turning point as she entered her 80s, the difference between frailty and healthy aging.

That's all very true ling, and how wonderful too for you to have such interest in your mom's health and wellbeing. As an older person myself I know that wellbeing has a lot to do with having someone who really cares for you and encourages you to take care of your health. 👍😊
