Does any one know if there is any research about the side-effects of chemo on digestive bacteria i.e. hte good bacteria we all have in our stomachs? Do they get wiped out by chemo and if so, waht can we do to restore them?
many thanks

Hi,
There are lots of side effects of Chemo on our body.
Well Chemo is suggested when the cancer cells divide and multiply much FASTER than most normal cells — and that's typically how they do their harm. Uncontrolled cell growth can lead to masses of cancer cells called TUMOR, or to a situation where healthy cells are crowded out and can no longer do their jobs efficiently. Chemo helps in destroying these fast-growing cells. But other types of fast-growing healthy cells (such as blood and hair cells) also can be damaged along with cancer cells, causing adverse reactions, or side effects.
Therefore, Physicians suggests the patients to have healthy and hygienic meal. The body must have enough caliber to bear the effects of Chemo (positive as well as negative) . So, there is no proper way to slow down the side effects on stomach (body) except the mental strength and healthy (less spicy) meal.
Proper diet is the only way to recover from any harm from these two therapies- Chemo and radiation.
I hope to satisfy you with my knowledge, but even though you have any query, we all are her to help and resolve.
Regards,
Apoorva.
