I have recently been to an Audiologist regarding my Tinnitus. After 3 sessions she has advised I have hearing aids to help with my problem but the price she gave me was £5,600!!
I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who has hearing aids which have helped which cost a more affordable amount of money.

Wow Jinklebaby!!!!!!!!! Are you in the UK? If yes, hearing aids are free! Along with free batteries and replacement tubes. My aids have indeed helped the T in that I hear the real world better, therefore the T fades into the background a bit. And mine are state of the art. So the audiologist said.
Thank you for your reply. I am in the UK and I do have NHS hearing aids but they fit behind your ears. This makes them difficult to wear along with my glasses and a face mask! Are yours the ones that fit in your ears? Best regards
I do have specs an I do wear a mask. The HA main gubbins is behind the ear. About an inch long. I have no problems wearing them EXCEPT when taking off mask you have to do it carefully, top of ear first. When I had chemotherapy a few years ago I had a wig and even then it was ok.
I have the same issue and you either need to be careful removing masks or get the snood/scarf type that you can just pull up over your face when needed.
Not as good as a proper mask but meet the requirements to cover your mouth and nose.
Hi Jinklebaby Be careful what you buy . Don't forget - audiologists are in the business of selling HA's. I saw one in January who said he could reduce the level of my T. Foolishly I bought them (£1500) . I didn't get on very well and asked for a refund. He persuaded me to persevere which I've done but really wish I hadn't. They help a little with the T but make my ears ache. Hoping the NHS will do better .
Hi I used Boots hearing care for my hearing aids , the audiologist was really good and did two appointments of hearing tests to set them up . I have hearing loss on one frequency only 4000hz I think it is . Mine are Phonak hearing aids with Bluetooth and have a tinnitus function that will play white pink or brown noise . I’ve not had this turned on as I’m saving that for the future if my T gets worse . They cost £2200 , and you can get that back after 8 weeks if they don’t work for you,plus the audiologist said the tinnitus function is no different in their more expensive ones . I don’t think they have made a big difference to my T but sometimes when I take them out it seems to get louder and sometimes when i put them in it seems quieter . They are worth having though as the Bluetooth enables connection to an I phone and tinnitus sound apps which help a lot during a loud spike or generally to calm you down and eventually get used to the noise . I have found they have helped to stop me monitoring the noise 24/7 , and with that the volume of the T goes down . So for me they were worth getting just for the ability to play sounds through if I need to and also as they improve your hearing loss , increasing the quality and volume of sound around you , that in itself can help distract the T . They can as well prevent or slow down your hearing loss from getting worse over time depending on its cause .

I was prescribed free NHS over the ear hearing aids, not sure if you can get in ear aids. you can ask for white noise to be added,
I love them, they have no bells and whistles that the more expensive ones do.
I wear glasses for reading and do not find them a problem, but maybe moving about as walking they may be. maybe wrap the stems with something soft to stop the rubbing noise.
I got off the bus took off my mask which pulled both hearing aids out and flung them across the pavement. so I agree that is a big problem.
I solved it by buying (think they are called snoods) which also keeps me warm in cold winds.
Same here. After having the aids go flying a couple of times I opted for the snood type face covering. Bought an assorted pack on Amazon.
