Does anybody know whether Prednisolone steroid exacerbates tinnitus?

I think that is what I was given to make tinnitus go down. A steroid? Supposedly it can help with acute noise induced tinnitus if given within furst few days. Did nothing för me.

Hi ,

Mine is 3 months old but I've been given for a chest infection. However it does seem to be calming my T down.

How much and how long have you taken it for?

I'm on a 5 day dose for chest thing.

I am taking this and have reduced the dose from 15mg to 3mg over about 8 months and It has not affected my T.

Tinnitus increased dramatically, when I had to take prednisolone. My audiologist said that it is Well known that it can increase T.

What happened when you came off it ? How long were you on it for ?

I took prednisolone for more than 6 month, before I could start on immune suppresive medicin. I have an autoimmune disease. Unfortunately this medicine do also increase tinnitus. 😢

I was given it to treat TT... 😬
