hello, I am on our holiday and really struggling to maintain the daily regimen I set up back home, although I am managing to do a gym session everyday. I know I must abstain from alcohol but it is so difficult, I am making the healthy food choices. Any support and advice would be welcomed.

Well done on keeping up the exercise. My advice for a holiday is to work out the most important part of the regime to stick to (probably keeping off alcohol) and vowing to stick to that. If things like diet or exercise slip a little then be kind to yourself, knowing you can pick up again when you get home. It is important to enjoy your holiday. Lots of places these days do a selection of Mocktails which are often fun to drink. Yes, a bit heavy on the sugar, but that is an area I would probably let slip on holiday if it meant I was not going to drink alcohol.
yes I fully agree with NieceByMarrisge try not to be too hard on yourself with food and fun drinks, do stay away from alcohol please I have been lucky 3week ago the wife and I were on holiday with our friends in Lanzarote for two weeks and now I’ve come to the USA to visit family and we are having a lovely time without alcohol, diet well that has taken a bit of a break exercise, not to much. Doing lots of walking but also lots of watching England down the local taverns , disappointing end but they tried. Good luck and enjoy your holiday ☀️😎👍.

Hi Resilience. I can relate. I have been on a couple of cruises the past few years and it can be challenging. The last one I went on it seemed that the passengers on the cruise just didn’t drink much (I don’t think I was on an AA cruise…. 😂). I’m not in AA.
It made things more enjoyable for me, even though it wasn’t planned that way.
I guess my point is try and hangout at those places and with people who go easy on the drinks - or that drinking isn’t a big part (that there is something of focus to enjoy).
I hope this helps. 😊
Have fun!
Experiment with as many mocktails and non alcoholic beverages as you can so you don't get bored. I really wouldn't worry about sugar while on holiday but please do not drink alcohol.Enjoy your holiday
Thank you
Mocktails are my new favourite drinks there is such a big selection now I tend to go for fruity sodas as they are so delicious. As long as you abstain from alcohol I think you should relax about the exercise and treats and enjoy your holiday and get back to it when you go home
Have a lovely time.
