Please can anyone give advice regarding filling out the Attendance Allowance Forms, the wording is sending me to distraction 🥴. Thank you in advance 🤞

I used to be a Citizens Advice (CA) benefits advisor. Our team helped probably hundreds of AA claimants over the years, both with initial claims and conducting many appeals on rejected claims. It can be a minefield for those not familiar with the procedures. I urge you to get help from CA or local authority Welfare Benefits team.

Hi lavender. How i applied for attendance allowance for my lovely dad, as I was his carer,no longer with us im afraid.

I phoned up to get the attendance allowance in paper format, went to my local age concern office,some great folk there to help, they filled it in for me with myself sitting answering the loads of questions,they just new what would be beneficial, in the application. But it was a completely genuine application, they took photo copies of various consultants letters etc,gp etc.....as dad suffered with parkinsons disease..they did not need to see dad in person.

I sent it back via recorded delivery, as to have proof.

7 weeks later dad was awarded, and backdated to the time I requested the form.
