It’s pool season and hubby really needs to get back to exercising but yesterday it took him about 20 minutes to crawl out of the pool and onto the deck due to his excruciating hip pain due to osteoarthritis. Is there any anti inflammatory that someone with cirrhosis can take. He’s so frustrated.

it would be worth checking with his liver and rheumatology consultants to see if there is anything he can take
I havePBC and rheumatoid arthritis. I have both been put on Azathioprine . It has helped my arthritis. And also brought my liver enzymes to a normal limit. Which the ursodiol saw has never been able to do. I am now off the Ursodiol and just taking the azathioprine. I was on the Urso for over seven years. It never brought my end signs within normal range.
So perhaps your rheumatologist could prescribe some thing. For your pain and also may help your liver enzymes
Wishing you the best

only one who can answer this is hepatologist. I have arthritis in my knees and mine said I could take ibuprofen but under strict conditions when I had cirrhosis. That does not mean he will be able too but you need to ask
