I was wondering if anyone on this forum is fitted with long term catheter I am having a lot of discomfort and stinging and would be grateful for any help Thanks

Sounds like that needs checking out because with long term catheterisation you could have developed a urinary tract infection - any infection along with your cirrhosis could be potentially very dangerous. UTI's can also lead to confusion issues and potentially even sepsis.

As it's the weekend I would be tempted to call the out of hours doctors for your area and get seen.

Thanks Katie I don't it's infection as urine very clear the district nurse gave me some sachets of lubrication gel which helps sometimes but just don't feel comfortable at times it has me crying 😢

I self catheterise and used to get pains but not infections and was told to take D-Mannose 500mg 3x per day and it has sorted it out as was told its cystitis. I buy mine off amazon. I suggest you speak to your specialist nurse.

It sounds like you have a bladder irritation if you’re urine is clear, you might benefit from drinking cranberry juice and also getting a smaller sized catheter fitted, ring the district nurse and they can check things for you. Good luck.
