Hello.

I am new here 🖐

After having some bloods taken last week after not feeling right it turns out my Total Billirubin is 35.

My lymphocytes are also low.

This is causing alot of worry and stress and I can't get to speak to my doctor until next week to ask what I want to ask.

I have came on here to see if anyone can help me understand what this means ans if there is anything that causes this and can my levels be lowered?

Thank you

High Billirubin markers on your bloods indicates jaundice or yellowness of the skin and shading around your eyes. 35 is above average, I went to hospital with levels over four times as much so don't be too concerned. The best thing to do is speak to your doctor and get start the process of getting to the hospital where you see a hepatologist. Unless you mean your doctor is at the hospital. Jaundice is a clear indication of liver issues but without proper MRI scans, bloods etc you shouldn't worry on speculation until its fact. My advice is speak to your doctor, push to get this properly diagnosed and get an appointment with the hospital.

We are here to support you but we do ask forum users not to post their results on here (community guidelines)as no one is qualified to interpret.

Blood results in isolation, without context do not prove or disprove anything. Your GP/medical team would be best placed to explain the meaning behind your numbers.

You may find our publication 'Liver disease tests explained' useful to read prior to speaking with your GP;

Keep us posted how you go.

Best wishes.

Thank you for your reply.I'm sorry for posting the results 🙈

I have spoken to my gp this week and he has explained that all my other liver function tests were normal and that I have actually had raised billirubin levels before which I didn't realise.

He has said it does indicate it could be Gilbert's syndrome which is harmless and does not need treatment.
