Ascities

Hi, I have been on here before asking about Ascities but things have now changed leaving me a little baffled.

When first diagnosed with NAFLD I was draining 7 to 9 litres a week, for the last six months or so I’ve drained less than 1 litre a week. People told me this was a good thing as it means the liver is working better.

The last three weeks things have been getting back to the old ways. Over this period I have drained, 1.5 2.5 and today 4.5 litres.

Does this mean my liver is no longer coping ? My only medical contact is a phone call once a month from the liver nurse, I emailed him a week ago but no response.

Probably just coincidence but just before the increase in Ascities I had an MRI to which I still don’t know the outcome.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

I'm sorry about your ascites increasing again. I hated ascites. Have you been watching your sodium intake? Also, I would keep emailing your doctor until you get an answer. Sincerely,

Katie 😊
