I don't really understand why you are asking this. Your previous posts said you have fatty liver, nails were ruled out as a form of diagnosis. You have been given good advice about improving your diet, taking exercise and not to drink any more alcohol which will not only help you to lose weight but also help your liver to recover. It appears you are still googling yourself into a frenzy which is still causing your anxiety. Maybe read back over the replies you had to encourage you again?

I was asking out of interest, as I've read many different things about symptoms, it wasn't about me getting in "a frenzy" at all. I wish I hadn't asked, I just thought it was interesting

Most fatty liver disease symptoms are not noticeable. It’s called a silent killer. There typically isn’t any symptoms and they find it through bloodwork.

Thanks for your reply. I've read so many things about it having no symptoms, but also various people who have it saying they had x, y and z symptoms. It's interesting to me

I have fatty liver and had symptoms. I looked pregnant and had awful nausea, bloating and sometimes vomiting. My doctor called this alcohol gastritis. My blood work was always clear, it wasn't until I got the ultrasound that it picked up fatty liver. Fatty liver disease is a relatively new disease that is being picked up more by modern technology. The only reason I had an ultrasound ordered is that I was entirely honest with my doctor and what I was drinking. I await a fibroscan now to assess the damage further.

Thanks for your reply <3

Fingers crossed the Fibroscan gives you good news. I find it so interesting how so many people have symptoms, yet doctors say there are no symptoms

I have been told it is down to the fact that it is a relatively new disease that doctors are only really beginning to understand. It used to be that the ultrasound wasn't able to pick up on it but as technology has moved on it is able to identify liver issues sooner but I guess only if there are symptoms and people are honest with their doctors. Good news for me, as I hope to have had the wake up call I needed. I am 6 months sober and never felt better.

That's brilliant - well done :)

I too drank way too much, and probably didn't think I had much of a problem. I'm still kind of in the "can't live or without" it, and not totally sure how to be totally content without having a drink at the weekend. I'll get there, I think.

We are all just one decision or moment away from a totally different life

Agreed and on a side bar " Just because you can doesn't mean you should " a lesson usually learned after the fact !!

I had the gastritis issues too but not really bloating just the awful pain in the middle upper abdomen for about 4 months after quitting same with itching and insomnia. Those are gone now and I’m just left with the persistent undying upper right quadrant pain and random neuropathy in legs. I’ve lost 15lbs and eat super healthy and it’s been 7 months and my liver is showing no signs of improvement but besides the URQ pain and neuropathy symptoms I feel a lot better.

Thats really frustrating for you. Is your URQ pain purely because of your fatty liver? Have you had a scan to see if it's improving?

I’ve had US in May showing fatty liver, CT July showing enlarged liver 20.5cm, MRI December showing enlarged liver 21 cm and enlarged portal vein 15mm. November Doppler US showing mild fatty liver and portal vein velocity 17 sec. getting biopsy due to enzymes being elevated since June. Had HIDA scan showing good gallbladder and endoscopy showing gastritis. No explanation for pains since gastritis cleared up.

It seems hard to get answers at times. I hope these tests help 💕
