Hi all, I used to be under a hepatologist’s care in Surrey but we moved to Sussex 2 years ago and time has come to see a specialist again. The GP will be able to guide me, I’m sure, but I was wondering if any of you had good experience with any particular hepatologist in Sussex that I could see.
Many thanks.

Good morning,
Please refer to our pinned community guidlines regarding consultant recommendations:
Users are asked NOT to post anything mentioning specific doctors or health care professionals by name as there could be legal implications for the author of the post and the forum should that post develop into something contentious or libellous.
Thank you, I understand and I’ll refrain from asking again.
Having said that, I only asked for positive recommendations. As a public forum, there is indeed a balance to be had between stopping unlawful actions and helping its members get the support they need.
Other forums have lists of consultants who they have worked with (note that I’m not suggesting they recommended them in any way). I thought that BLT would have such a list given the excellent materials already provided on their website for patients.
Like in any profession, it is normal to have people more specialised than others.
It’s nothing wrong wanting to see the best or most experienced. It saves time, numerous erroneous tests, hassle and so on.
We do not hold a list of consultants but if you search the hospital hepatology lists, there are usually names of clinicians.
We do not allow for discussions of specific consultants as inevitably there is also a discussion of negative experiences on a thread and this could be contentious for all involved.
We hope you find a suitable clinician soon and thank you for your understanding.
