Usefulness of APRI/Fib-4 if decompensated

Hi there, I wonder if people have opinions on the above if someone is symptomatic as decompensated, high Ferritin and ALT, everything else relatively normal. Any opinions would be most welcome.

Hello Pellegrino,

There is no one single test that diagnoses or stages liver disease.

It is usually a combination of blood tests, imaging, history taking and clinical examination which will all contribute to the clinician reaching a diagnosis or stage of disease.

Individual tests have their place in this but are not conclusive on their own.
