Just a little update on my Capability for Work Assessment.
70 mile round trip to Aberdeen in minus 2 temperatures this morning to be greeted with the news that it has been cancelled as they didn't have my file.
My initial appointment on 27th November was also cancelled but at least I got a day's notice. I had better not swear but I am a tad p****d off right now π π π

I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through... I have mine Monday. The trip is over 50 miles. Is this your first WCA? They did mine by paperwork the last time. This will be my first f2f assessment. I have heard that cancellations have been happening a lot. Write to your MP and let them know. I will give my MP an email to let him know about travelling and waiting. I heard one poor women got to the assessment centre and waited over 2 hours to be seen.
Hi Elle, I was given a new appointment for yesterday and surprise, surprise they phoned on Thursday to cancel it. I am going to write a letter asking if it can be done over the phone or just using paperwork as that's three cancellations now. My husband has booked time off to take me each time so he is none too pleased ! Can you let me know how you get on Monday .
Oh that's awful and so so wrong! If we cancelled, they'd put us through hell. I've had constant text messages saying I have an appointment and if I don't attend my payments will stop. I've not only got liver problems but have put my lumber spine out and am waiting for a Emergency MRI (still waiting) So Mo day I have the journey. I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully they do not cancel mine. Plenty have been cancelled in the waiting room!
And yes you can ask for a home assessment if you can get conformation from your GP you cannot travel.. I didn't know this so didn't get the time to ask my GP. Just makes it worst for those who are seriously ill π
I'm so sorry not to have updated you sooner. I've had so much going on.. I do apologise x
As for my appointment, the wait was long and drawn out in the waiting room. I could hardly walk and had to ask my daughter to attend with me as I was in agony. I told them so too. What a journey when disabled and chronically sick. The interviewer was quick and I passed all the interigation. I was ill for two weeks after. I hope yours went well xxx
