I have NAFLD which leaves me with fatigue, the worst symptom is severe insomnia but also now been diagnosed with gastric reflux (GERD ) Does anyone else have this if so what is the best medication, most seem to have a bad effect n the liver eg Omeprrazole , Rinitidine

Morning. My suggestion would be to press for abdominal ultrasound/abdominal MRI to see if there are underlying explanation. If Omeprazole does not solve the GERD issue, it would be good to do further investigation.

Are you under the care of a hepatologist or gastroenterologist? They would be best placed to discuss what medication would be appropriate for you to take as they have access to all your medical history and test results. Also, if your NAFLD symptoms are getting worse, it may be a good idea to discuss that with your doctors and see if you need to have any further medical investigations.

Many thanks saw gastroenterologist last week as useful as a chocolate TPot
After months & 2 cancellations seeing my Hepatologist next week, good man but vastly overworked
I live In Cornwall & liver services here not fit for purpose
