Hello to all,

Been diagnosed with HepB back into 2015. Got my first fibroscan in 2015,result 10.1 kPa. Another test last year who was 10.4. Yesterday I had another one, results from 9 correct measures (and 17 incorrect) was 11 kPa.

I mention that I'm on ETV 0.5mg,daily. All this time (before starting treatment ALT was around 40,AST around 30) my liver enzimes was ALT under 27 AST under 23. Sometimes bilirubin was a bit high but last month all my blood results were in the normal range( PLT - 247).

I Don t understand why my fibrosis worsening, with normal LFT and the other results.

The Dr. ordered new blood test, with next visit in 3 months.

Thank you all,

Hi, We can’t comment on your results as we are not Doctors. Lots of things can raise bloods, illness, eating unhealthily etc. If you are overweight and inactive you need to switch it up. Start exercising and lose weight. If your diet is poor you need to eat healthily...no processed food, salt, switch from white to brown ie bread rice etc and less red meat. Sorry I can’t offer more help only my own experience. Try not to worry and go back to your Doctor.

Cheers

Hep B can ruin the liver if left untreated for too long. By the time I was diagnosed I'd already reached end stage cirrhosis with hardly any symptoms prior. My kpa was in the 70s if I recall correctly. Hopefully now you're being treated, some of the damage is reversed or at least disease progression is slowed down.

The variance in the kpa score is very minimal. They wont ever likely be the exact same number even if nothing has changed. With your enzymes being in check I would strongly believe it has more to do with the buffer margin for error in the scores more than it has to do with an advancment of fibrosis. I know it seems to be logical to think its worsening as the numbers to the right of the decimal went upward but its very likely if you did it tom that it could be downward. Remember those to the right of the decimal are tenths of a Kilo Pascal. Thats so tiny of an increment.

Now if Im wrong and it is an increase in fibrosis I can say this: If you have only gone up .9 of a KPA in almost 5 years than that is not shabby at all. But I do believe out of the 2 scenarios that the former is more likely. What is your doctors opinion on it?

Probably I got this virus in early childhood. So, the damage started more early than 4 years.

In 2015 I ve stopped drinking. Anyway I wasn't a heavily drinker.

I guess the Dr is wanting for blood test results.

She booked me in 3 months for next month instead of 6.

I ve started as well to have a healthy diet, to be honest I didn't had the best diet in last period.

I should have results by the end of this week.

I ll post the results after.
