Would anyone be able to explain which bile ducts are affected when an MRCP has shown ‘Intra and Extra Hepatic Ductal Dilation’ please? I got a letter on Saturday I have a EUS this Friday. An ultrasound I had before the MRCP shows CBD dilation. Thank you

No idea, I hv had MRI n MRCP, they only provide me with info like results 'suggestive of PSC', I have another MRCP in a couple of weeks, not sure why probably just monitoring. I shall try and get some more info. I don't think I see Consultant until June, when I will ask some more direct questions. Sorry can't be more helpful
Thanks for the reply I hope your MRCP goes well. I had the ultrasound on the 7th February which showed a dilated CBD and then had a MRCP on the 28th February. I saw my consultant on the 18th March who said that I needed a EUS which I thought was to look more closely at the CBD to check for stones had blood tests after the appointment. Got the appointment letter on Saturday 30th March for my EUS for this Friday 5th April. I got another letter today from my consultant a copy also goes to my GP which mentions intra and extra hepatic ductal dilation found on MRCP. Suppose I’ll have to wait until after Friday and stop using google 🥺
We appreciate it is so hard to wait to get results but please consider stepping away from google.
We would suggest to clarify the MRCP report with your consultant who is best placed to explain it to you.
Hopefully the EUS will also give additional information, as it normally provides excellent images of the organs that lie next to the gastrointestinal tract, such as the bile ducts, lymph nodes and pancreas.
