Does anyone know the symptoms for ascites?

I have had it but was in a coma so obviously don't remember it.

I have had ascities and many other issuettes at the same time so I can’t remember which symptoms came frm what issuette 😁. So I’ve cheated ad you can guess where this lot came from, following, but it’s not from my brain 😁

a distended (swollen) abdomen.

difficulty breathing when lying down.

diminished appetite.

abdominal pain.

bloating.

nausea and vomiting.

heartburn.

Oh dear, yes comas, I would like to say that brings back memories- but I forget 😁

Hi! My dad has been suffering with ascites - they drained 6 litres on Friday. His tummy was swollen (he’s usually very slim) and his belly button popped out. It made him feel ‘yucky’ and he couldn’t eat as much as usual.

He also developed swollen ankles - I think the two can go hand in hand x

Hi bintcliffe,

When in doubt call your doctor. That being said - ascites tends to make your stomach stick out and more quickly than it would from just gaining weight and Miles gave you excellent signs.
