Hi all. Anyone else experience light headedness / dizziness with HE? HAS gotten worse almost like a drunk/tipsy feeling? Only couple of days until my ammonia blood test.

It would also be a good idea to discuss any symptoms with your own doctors so they can assess you.

Gosh yes. I felt like I was drunk when walking, but was sober. I had to think about going up and down the curb when crossing the road. Awful. Please get it checked out.

I certainly have experienced the dizziness and it feels like the ground is uneven at times for me I stumble around also one of the things that seems to happen to me is my vision gets really bad.

I did feel like I was a bit buzzed, but it stops with lactulose.

Thanks for replies.. Yeah the vision is annoying I struggle to read things too fast.. also can't think of words quite often too. Hopefully my ammonia blood test tomorrow picks it up so they can start treating it.. the lactulose on it's own isn't having much effect any more.. hope my gastrontologist prescribes me rifaxamin! Also gonna request he refers me to liver specialist too. As he seems confused to what's going on with normal Fibroscan result etc he says my symptoms don't match my results.... surely he has take action seeing as i also have grade 1 asophical varices too... this is driving me mad!

Yes, I felt dizzyness and a sense of confusion.

I took lactulose and it helped me get back to feeling normal.

I constantly am dizzy and lightheaded. My basic bloodwork comes back normal. I had 2 ultrasounds they say are normal. My Hepatologist says nothing is wrong and I have begged for further tests, which he wont do because my bloodwork and ultrasound look normal. I think this is HE that I have because I never have a clear head and always feel dizzy. Had my ammonia tested and it was in normal range which can happen with HE. Its very frustrating to know there is something wrong and Dr.s diagnose you with depression.

Well where do I start.... so angry right now was supposed to have that appointment today with my GI consultant... but after calling to confirm time etc.. i wasn't on the system ! i managed to get it because someone else cancelled their appointment so i took their slot...

So i've been to see my GP today and got them to try and put a referral through directly to birmingham QE. GRRRRR what a sh*t day.
