To cut a long story short, I saw my consultant last Thursday who said my liver has reduced slightly only because I'm hardly eating , pain before , during and after I eat. Anyway, he said bile is flowing back into my stomach as I have no gall bladder!! That night I got stabbing pains in my oesophagus and it hurt to swallow. I don't think it's acid reflux as I had an opportunity for that nearly 5 years ago. Any ideas of what can be causing this pain? It sets my jaw, back a,shoulders and shoulder blades off. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Hi Lynne, did you have an mrcp (mri scan) just before you had your gallbladder removed? I did and haven't had any further trouble. My friend however had a stone in the bile duct which was missed and caused her a huge amount of pain. She had to have further surgery to remove the bile duct and stone. The other thing I can think of is Hpylori which is treated with antibiotics very successfully. I've had it twice and the pain went up through my collarbones and into my jaw. It almost feels like a heart attack! I've been diagnosed with an angry and bleeding ulcer(s) which also causes the same sort or pain. Take care. Deb
I didn't have an MRI. I had it done 33 years ago!! I have been checked for stones. Yes, it did feel like a heart attack. Not sure about an ulcer. Thank you for your advice. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
