Well nearly a year after I finished my chemo (I'm personally feeling fantastic), I'm today making the trip back to the Chatsfield suite for my wonderful, brave and strong Grannie at the age of 77 for her to start chemo.!!
Not sure how I'm going to feel being back in that place, but will be strong for my Gran πͺ
I've decided a few months back to make a career change, never been brave enough before, but if I can get through chemo I can do anything lol, I'm now studying to be a TA and volunteering in my son's school and I love it.!! Just finished my GCSE maths exams and now starting a Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools...
Oh and my hair is making a real come back...π
Hope you are all well xxx

Hi sandy, you look fab! I bet it will be difficult going back but will be good for your gran as she can see how well you have come through it. You sound very happy, positive and strong! Keep going! Lynne. X
Fantastic news about your health and making other changes in your life too. I too changed career and now am a life coaching and so enjoy my "work". It's amazing to feel you are helping someone get more from their life. As a TA that will definitely apply to you. Well done.
I hope all goes well for your Granny and I am sure having you there will give her strength. For you to revisit a challenging stage in your life may be emotional but focus on how well you have recovered everything else is in the past. X
You look amazing, I wish you well with your new career, sending love to your granny to help her through her journey, I look forward to seeing a picture of her when her chemo finishes xxx
I had my last chemo on the 16th July 2016 and my hair started coming back properly beginning of Sept ( I had bum fluff come thru a few weeks after chemo finished), I use a Watermans grow me shampoo and take biotin tablets
Hi Sandy, well done - you sound so positive. It's a boost for anyone reading your post π I had a look at watermans products and am all ready to buy some for my sad looking hair.. but, it mentions that it sorts out hormonal imbalances. Do you know if it be used safely with E positive cancers? Hugs to you and your gran x
I'm sorry Caroline I don't know the answer, mine was oestrogen positive and I've been Ok, but honestly I didn't read the blurb bit too closely (perhaps I should've in retrospect but I was too eager to have my hair back), it was recommended by another cancer patient at a group I went to.!
I did ask a dr about the tablets and they said they were fine.!
You look fab and happy, hugs to your Gran she is lucky to have your support and you will know how she feel, which will really help her.
Changing your job will be positive and that always helps, sometimes after such a health shock you need to make major changes to your life, after all you only live once!
Xxx
Hi,
Hearing this is like getting such positive healing vibes... Awesome.... God bless u all... Being Positive is the first step and the most important step on the road to recovery....
Thanks everyone, it was a tough day but my Gran is an amazing lady and took it all in her stride, think it helped her that I was the one to take her for first one.!!
