Hello everyone. I'm due to have an mri scan done in a couple of weeks. Can you tell me what is involved?

It sounds scary but it isn't, there is a dye injection in your arm, and you get placed in the machine face down- a far more calming prospect than being on your back! Please do not worry about this very important test - I had it done 3 weeks ago. Best of luck X

I was petrified but there was no need. As you are face down you see nothing. Towards the end of the scan you will have a dye put through. If I can do it any one can. Good luck you will be fine x

It does involve having to lie still and it is noisey. The dye injection can cause a bit of an unpleasant sensation but it doesn't last long.

In some places they will let you take you own music on iPod /phone and then they can put it through the headphones you wear xx

Just to add although you are enclosed it is light inside and warm. If it wasn't for the noises you could almost feel you are on a sunbed
