a test would give you a accurate result 3 weeks after unprotected sex, if you tested now it would be accurate

Hi there

If you took a test now it would provide an accurate result as three weeks have passed since the unprotected sex. If it comes back negative but you still haven't got your period, wait a couple of days and retest. I know waiting can be so frustrating but sometimes the worrying can cause a delay.

Best wishes

Pregnancy tests are most accurate after you've missed a period, if you can stand to wait till you are due then that's the best option. Otherwise even if you are pregnant the hormone levels may be too low to show as a positive result. That being said you can pick up accurate tests for about a £1 in the supermarket so you can always repeat a test without any major expense.
