I am pleased to announce an upcoming upgrade to the public profile page (cf image).
Why are we making changes? We learned that many members who join HealthUnlocked still find parts of the site hard to use. As a result, we are gradually improving the design and investing in other performance upgrades to make HU more user-friendly overall. The new profile page will work better on various devices, load faster, and be easier to read.
Such design and performance changes are necessary for any digital product to keep up with evolving user needs. You will have noticed the recently-updated News Feed — our data shows that the new version gets over 10% more engagement from existing members (and much better feedback from new ones). Similarly, we expect the new profile page to work better for more HealthUnlocked members, and we hope you will like the updated version despite the initial adjustments.
The change to the public profile will go live tomorrow — if you spot any bugs, please report them to our support team for review.
Warmly,
RobertHU

Would also like to see some way to encourage new members to fill out a profile with a cogent history of their situation so we may know where they are on the spectrum of disease. There is no consistency and we all know that not all PCA behaves the same way. Some times we do not even know the age of the patient!
Sounds good; I'm nervous of Technology; in case I break it!
At 74, I've always been good at the mechanical stuff but electronics, no. My late husband worked in IT for years, and back then I was ahead of the curve on the Tech front, but I have slipped back to Prehistory on it now. Windows 3.1, no prob, likewise Windows 95, 98 and XP, Win 7, ok, not so good with Win 10, and I haven't even thought about Win11!
Can't even get my smartphone working right!
Would welcome it being more user friendly. The various functions seem to be quite hidden, unless you know what to look for, so, Can I request an Idiot's Guide? Pretty Please?
Robert, I am struggling with the changes to "My Feed" and find it much less user-friendly than the previous version. I'd been hoping HU might change back to the earlier presentation.
Also, your own profile says you only joined HU yesterday! Is this a glitch in the new profile "upgrade" or did you really only join yesterday?
Thank you for your announcement re changes to HU profiling.
I have been a member of HU for a few years, now, in the section under AF (Atrial Fibrillation). It has been a great help to me. However, I also suffer from what has been diagnosed as IBS and have non-healing ulcers on my lower legs/ankles. I am not diabetic, nor do I smoke anymore, Needless to say, I have suffered huge discomfort from each of these afflictions, often all three at once. I now wear a pacemaker, and am due to have its battery changed this summer, as it is nearing the end of its predicted lifespan. This device has made an enormous difference to my sense of well being. The other two conditions remain as such, as no cause has yet been found for the leg ulcers failure to fully heal (one of them has been plaguing me for almost 8 years) and I have tried many approaches re the IBS, without any resounding success. I would like to join a HU section for that problem, as well as one for non-healing, non-diabetic ulcers. Being of an age (83) which was not reared in the intricacies of IT, I am unclear as to how I can do this without losing my place in the AF section. I would appreciate any advice.
jossikins, you can search for and follow other communities via the 'My hub' menu item, second from top left. The top left menu item 'My feed' gives you access to the latest activity in all the communities you follow, via your customised News feed (My feed). You can also go to each community you follow via the 'My hub' menu item. If you no longer want to follow a community, you can unfollow it, which adjusts your newsfeed accordingly.
Robert, I am having a WEIRD problem with profile. No one in my CLL support group seems to have this problem, so I may have something (hack.shadow) on my computer.
I have an Imac.
When I click on a poster's name to get profile information, the 1st one I click on after I have logged in all is fine. But, the next one and all after that, have the same first posting showing but with their own name attached. and when I click on the "replies" button, the message is "this person (gives the correct name for the profile page) has not yet posted",
I am completely bumfuzzled. Is there any indication the imac 15.4 version are somehow effected by what you are doing and not able to access correctly?
Does it help when you refresh? It takes me a while to load a page after the changes in the profile. I don't see any results for a while either, then eventhey appear.
Nathalie99, I just now clicked on your name tag and your profile came up with the right column headed "Spreading the.....
Then when I clicked on my on name tag, I have the same heading in the right column--
It is NOT MY POST, nor in my area of support--yet there it is with my name tag as though I have posted it.
After i have refreshed, and click on another name tag, whatever is that name tag's first post on the profile (so their latest post) will be the same for whomever's name tag I click on next.
Also that wrong name tag is all over the profile but the profile info in left column is correct for the name tag. When I click on replies, my own replies come up. But it looks as though I have no postings-- just the Spreading the.... which is NOT MINE.
I CAN access my correct profile page with the right column being MY posts, if I click on the "member" button above the CLL site daily postings.
I have the same! Thank you for writing in details and I just tested it on my Samsung phone.
Made screenshots and I'm going to send an email to technical support with those attached.
It is definitely not just on your iMac...I have an iMac too but this seems to be happening irrespective of the delivery, operating system or browser being used.
Thank you for identifying the problem and I will pass it on to the technical team...
Thank you, Nathalie. I have found the glitch is in the name tag that goes with a post--when tech made the new name tag box and made it active for accessing profile— the original name tag doesn't work properly.
My question to Robert yesterday should just be: Why have 2 name tags active for a profile access?
Robert, please see if you can "turn off" the ability to access a profile by clicking on the nametag that is above a post.
When I click on that nametag position, I continue to get profiles from whatever nametag I first clicked on in a session at the computer.
I had discovered what was wrong 9 days ago, but today I returned to my long-time habit of checking a profile by the ONLY way one could check a profile in the past. It was a moment of not being in the moment, if you will. It is quite annoying to have this a something after all these years of not having to discriminate as to the nametag you click on for profile.
The box you have provided with the profile has no more use than the one above the post when so many will not give enough info for it to be used effectively.
