"John Griffiths, a Met Office forecaster, told MailOnline the country should expect rain, sleet and snow over the next week - but it was too soon to tell if 'sudden stratosphere warming' (SSW) would result in a repeat of February 2018's Beast from the East.
A yellow snow and ice warning has been issued for Yorkshire & Humber, parts of the North East of England and Wales. The cold spell will continue with 'locally severe overnight frosts, especially across the North', the Met Office said, adding that there will be some wintry showers across eastern parts."
