Working together to Save lives, Queen urges UK to work as one

The UK can "turn the tide" on the coronavirus crisis within 12 weeks, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.

But pressed on what he meant by the three-month timescale, he said he did not know how long it would go on for.

He said trials on a vaccine were expected to begin within a month and warned he would "enforce" Londoners to be kept apart "if necessary".

Earlier, in a message to the nation, the Queen urged people to come together for the common good.

Well the queen can talk as you can be sure she will be well protected. It would be nice if we all were.

Or empty shelves at the supermarket! She will still be able to get her caviar and truffles.

The responsibility is yours to protect yourself hypercat, no one elses with regard to the virus, you did say the other day you were not going to, being young with very mild COPD not feeling you should have to isolate.

I might also add that it is entirely possible to make a point without attributing it to anyone in particular. That way, a genuinely valid point would have wider appeal and greater influence amongst readers.

One assumes if they are self isolating and not performing public duties due to their age then the exchequer will be receiving the equivalent refunds from the public purse in due course maybe that's what she meant ? :)

My feelings were when I saw Boris, yesterday, was that he couldn't wait to get down to Chequers - do everything remotely - maybe then, they'll lock down London.

I'm sure the queen will have a ventilator supplied, if needed.

in reply to anng18

I don't think it will be long before London is locked down completely. Hope people in London and everywhere will stay safe.
