I have just found a whole month of messages between, midge , buttercup and friends. A whole feast. But why did i not see these earlier.? Is it because i dont have " a daemon like Lyra has". I No dog, no cat, nor even a parrot. I do hsve a robin who comes to visit . So maybe he will burst into rhyme one day instead of just shouting at me.!

I seem to be missing a lot of posts recently. Maybe it's because of the slow internet (yesterday I got an email sent 53 days previously) The messages load in bundles, and sometimes instead of loading the next installment it loads posts from six days ago, so it goes from things posted 8 hours ago to posts that are six days old, and everything in between is missing. 🤔 I can find some from the daily digest but others I seem to miss until days later and I'm sure there must be some I don't see at all. My internet is so slow that my Likes often get timed out, so it's not really surprising that I miss whole posts 🙄 A month of Midge must be lovely though 😊

Aaaaw

I too have a tame robin Jaybird and she is a real friend as I cannot have a pet where I live.

Will yours eat from your hand? If so how long did it take to tame her?

Sorry to digress from the real topic here but I was thrilled to read that you too have a feathered friend 😉😉

No havent tried that. He comes to the balcony when i am replacing the food and water. I have a full length window onto a balcony where i feed the birds. They feel safer being not on ground level . I often look up to find a beady eye watching me . As long as i dont move !

The robin comes and shouts at me when i go outside at ground level.

I dont really think it is necessarily the same bird as our little birds do migrate further south in the country when a cold spell happens. The ones in the south hop across the channel when they are displaced. I was once on a cruise going across the channel in oct . It was foggy and we found masses of small birds finches , tits and a couple of robins with others travelling with us . They were not frightened of humans around . As a bird watcher this was disconcerting to find them around your feet . We even had an iimpromptu talk about it the next from one of the experts on board.

These birds had become disoriented in the fog and landed on board as we crossed the channel. They stayed as we sailed across the Bay of Biscay until we arrived at Lisbon and then disappeared.

I hope they had a happy life in Portugal !

Thank you for sharing that Jaybird. That’s so interesting.

The RSPB gave me a link to buy a feeder with suction pads that fits onto a window so I am going to buy that, I’m prepared to try anything to keep my darling feathered friend happy and well.😉

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Let’s pray it’s not too cold, for us and the birds😗
