The chest infection that developed after a ‘normal’ cold was treated thanks to a 7 day course of Amoxicillin + 5 day supply of the miracle Prednisolone x 8 per day.
I am now Back onto the Carbocisteine x 3 over 24hours and so far I can cope with the hot weather in recent days ok.
hello Carnut. glad to read you a feeling better. I have had two courses of Prednisolone and feel they were not the best medication for me. The first time was following a visit to the consultant. Reported to nurse i felt more breathless than before and lethargic. I did not think it was my imagination
Was admitted a couple weeks later into hospital and on my discharge was given a receeding dosage of Prednisolone which i honestly believe contributed to my generally feeling unwell and finding breathing more of a problem. was re-admitted and now on oxygen basically 24 hrs.. I have a friend who has also been on Prednisolone which she finds they helped her.
it may have been due to something else that caused my breathing problem, but - no one will convince me otherwise Pred. had nothing to do with it. I had been fairly comfortable up to that point.

I am sorry to read of your problems with prednisalone. In my case it worked like a charm, the improvement was good in less than 12hours. Of course we are all different and so I sincerely hope you find a combination of treatment that helps you enjoy life. Best wishes for the future CJ
