Looking for recommendations for Portable Oxygen - small - lightweight

Good evening everyone. I have COPD but also have a heart problem and have to have 16 hrs of Oxygen a day. It's a pain but it helps me so much, not so tired or worn out. The NHS supplies are brilliant but not what I need to live my life. I'm fairly new to all this but wondered if anyone else was on oxygen at home and had found a Portable Oxygen bag that is small and not too heavy. I like to walk my dog but I find the NHS ones very cumbersome. I need one that lasts max 2 hours. Does anyone know a company that I might be able to get one from please?

HiSpeak to your respitory nurse, they can offer paediatric cylinders, halve the size. Plus there is liquid oxygen flask can weigh as little as 2.2kg. There is also a homefill system, main concentrator for long term with facility to fill small cylinders.

Hi Stone-UK an thanks for your answer. Yes I have the home fill system but the smallest one they will let me have is a 5 hour one which even slung over my shoulder is heavy and gets in the way. I think I've found something I might like in the selling pages of this site - just found that - brilliant. So now I'm busy googling Focus Airsup to see if I can afford one of those which looks perfect for my needs.

Hi

The Airsep focus is only suitable for 2lpm. Each battery last one hour thirty minutes.

Hi

Check with your respitory team befor making a final decision.

I’am lucky I live close to a showroom in north west so can test before any purchase.

Another option.

Hiya, Spoken to respitory team today. Very happy, getting shot of my refills and big cage on top of my home concentrator and getting a small POC - not as small as the Airsep but so much better than the refill ones. Thanks so much for your help.

I had the same problem. I spoke to my oxygen nurse and asked for the 1 litre and i.5 litre bottles. Much smaller and lighter in very manageable carry cases. Made a big difference for me.

Hi Gcole, I gotta Hone Concentrator Narch 2017 after taken to hosp for week as has ‘attack in surgery on a normal appt) I didn’t realised I’d had COPD for years!! Had puffers but didn’t really use cis thought they were for asthma!. I was given 2 portable Cylibders to take out but too heavy as got spine/back probs. Just got a 2.2kg portable Concentrator to go out and it’s making a difference. Free from NHS. I was supposed to go Spain April but Hosp said not fit and too dangerous. List lots of money as it was all inc for 10 days. I had ordered a portable Concentrator from Pure O2, £340 snd had to cancel (charged me £50, usually £70 cancellation fee) They had 2 weeks notice!!! So you need to speak to Respiority Nurse at Hosp or via Dr’s and explain you can’t get out with cylinders and hopefully they help. Good luck
