A stone is part of the old imperial measuring system as is pound and ounce etc. Many of us oldies don't do metric! x
14pounds is a stone. (Roughly 6kg). 16 ounces is 1pound xx
I have to juggle my Weights & Measures, I think in Kilograms and weights are in grams ( Baking), I estimate measure in feet & inches ?, I left my imperial system when I went to live in Spain 1985. Came back here 2013, most things are still the same ie. Market Stalls- eg.:3 pounds for £2 , I know I weigh 66 Kilos, Dam, just can't lose the extra kilos. Keeps the Grey Matter at Bay...I Hope.
