Your peak flow is indevidual to you. And is used as a indication of your lung function. On its own it only tells a small part of the story. If you are feeling realy porly with this result go see your gp, however if this is your normal and you are ok or as ok as you can be with thiese lung conditions then i wouldent worry. But do ask your gp or consultant next time you see them. Welcome to the forum

Hello Gordysmit, welcome to the forum. I would agree with most others your figures are a guide line to your doctors as to what is normal for you, but if you are concerned then see your GP. My norm is 250 to 300 so I would not panic at your figures. But in some people this could signal a problem.

Hi Gordysmit. It so easy to become paranoid about peak flow reading, I know, I’ve been in that place. I read one of our member say , throw numbers in the bin . How do YOU feel. How true. In my opinion. Oxygen reading is important. Your Asthma Nurse or Doctor will provide that . My PF ranges about 300, and I’m 80 after 40 years of COPD. So cheer up and get on with life

After calling in to my surgery to ask if I could get some antibiotics for a chest infection, I was informed by a very rude receptionist that I could not get them over the counter ( which I did know ) so I then asked for an urgent appointment . She told me very rudely that she had no appointments that day. I was just about to inform her that I had a heart condition and suffered from chronic asthma so I needed to see the doctor and she very rudely said !!! You will have to go over to the pharmacy and see if they could help me. The receptionist whose name I did not get did not aven offer to look for a later appointment. I felt very angry that she did did not even try to accommodate me. As a result I had to call 111 who got me an appointment the same night within 2 hours off calling them.
