Hi...and thank you for all your messages

Sorry if I didn’t thank everyone personally but I thank you all for your support.

Not a good day for Dad, pleurisy on one side and fluid filling up the other lung..so his heart is tired. They are putting him on diuretics, it will affect his kidneys which were dehydrated but they have tried to rehydrate, they will take care of the kidneys later..he has nebs, oxygen, Ivs, physio.

He hates every minute of it and is saying all I need is a cough mixture, bless him.

Tomorrow I will know if he is making progress or if I have to tell my brothers to come..

One picture for the road..Moonlight..

Wash and bed for Fran

Thanks again xx

I do hope you've managed to surface the other side of your chemo by now, Anne, and maybe had some help from somewhere with the younger girls?? Enjoy the few days off, if at all possible. Try to eat at least. Good luck, love and a big hug ❤️ Penny x

Aw thanks Penny. A week on and I'm hoping to pick up a bit soon. It's been better..no sickness just nausea this time at least. And yes I can't wait for them all to break up! Hope you're ok too...xxx*hugs*

Nausea takes some coping with though. Hope it will pass soon and give you a break. Maybe a chemo holiday over Christmas?? So that you can enjoy with your girls....fingers crossed 🤞

I'm ok thanks, for now, healthwise. But selling our house and trying to move which has become quite traumatic...lost four buyers so far 😨 Life's rarely easy!

Hoping you have a good day today....just take one day at a time for now. Big hug 🤗Penny xx

So sorry to hear about your Dad, Fran. What a terribly worrying time for you. Perhaps your brothers can visit whatever the news, to give you both some support. I do hope he pulls through this episode, though things sound serious.

Big hug to you, Penny

in reply to Yatzy

Hi Penny..

Thank you 😊

I have kept them regularly informed, I always do but nobody at the horizon this time..they’ve got their Christmas holidays organised with their children and friends..maybe this is one time too many, where you have to cancel plans again as we have done so many times in the past years..so we will see, the decision is theirs..

On another note we received our M&S order with Bea, she had waited for me to open our box of goodies, so we have our Christmas crackers, pudding and Dundee cake, box of biscuits, lemon curd..we were like two little girls last night..life has its joys..

Have a good day today xx

Fran

The Christmas order from M&S sounds delightful, a real treat! Just what you're needing, a bit of spoiling! I'm sorry to hear that you're having to soldier on alone, without your brothers' support, but I'm afraid I've been there myself with my brother with regards to my mother's care. A biannual visit, and calls to her less and less. Never a call to me to see how we're coping. But at least I have a sister who does more, and is open to discussion about care...though a mixed blessing at times! She's rather argumentative!! Ha! At least you have your daughter to go home to....and your Christmas treats

Hope you find the strength to cope with the day ahead. We'll all on here be thinking of you 💕 Let us know how things go xx

Penny

Ps I'm back from my Manchester trip. Glorious to be at the game, but weather was atrocious. It was singing in the rain! And the cold! (I was careful to keep the scarfie trick going!) But we won ⚽️ with just one goal...all you need!

🤞fingers crossed for you today

My thoughts are with you....I went through a similar experience with my father.

Thank you 😊. Yes, better aging is the trend but I don’t think medical science has found the magic formula yet so only pain and grief..

I feel for you. It’s always hard to know when to call in relatives. We went through this with my dad. Once my husband and I were called back from France, only to find dad up and in a chair, joking with his nurses and fellow patients. He went home soon after and lived a further 8 years. I think he gave the nurse who rang us a bit of a tongue lashing, but it’s always difficult to know when is the right time.
