Have anyone ever experience blood coming from one nipple? I was taking a shower about two months ago, as I got out and was drying off I realize my left nipple was dripping blood. The problem lasted about 3 or 4 minutes and it has not reoccured since but I do often feel different types of pain coming from my breasts. Suppose to go on the 8th of December for my anuual mamogram hope everything checks out ok. Waiting for a response

I think that is something you need looking at before the 8th December if you can get to a GP could be something and nothing but get checked over could be mastitis

Hi Libb .

I have never heard of that before. Are you breastfeeding at all? There are a lot of possibilities as to what it could be. Please do mention it to your gynaecologist. I think it's very important to find out the cause and also put your mind at ease.

Best wishes.

A Papiloma is a a small wart on the inside of the nipple so it's rarely noticeable to the eye, they commonly cause blood stained discharge. They are harmless and usually clear up themselves, my mums had them couple of times. But, check with the GP/specialist in case it could be anouther cause.

I had a papiloma in my 20s. As soon as it was confirmed [took a while - mammogram then went back to have sample of the discharge taken to analyse] I was in hospital the next week to get it removed surgically. Was in hospital 2 days, now it would be a day case. Haven't had trouble since.

Think you should have had this one checked out when it occured. You may find it difficult to get an appointment now before the eighth, so good luck on the eighth and hopefully it is one of the more minor problems that caused the bloody discharge as it has not reoccured. Take care x
