carbocisteine
Your doctor should have checked what other medicines you are taking before prescribing this one. If you are worried you should either go back to your doctor or check things out with your chemist. Good luck with it.
I have umpteen different heart pills including digoxin and have had carbocisteine for five years with no problems and it has really helped with mucus, as I hardly seem to have any these days. The only pill my respiratory physician was worried about was dronedarone for atrial fibrillation which has now been stopped and replaced by digoxin. I hope this helps.
As mrsmummy said your doctor should have checked. My GP has software that allows him to check your existing medication against any new medicines.
I have been taking them for some time now and they do not seem to have made a great deal of difference, except losening the gunk. I take a high dose Bisoporlol and 14 other medicines on top!
I'm on them with heart problems doesn't have any effect on me , doctor was fully aware of heart problems

Hi I find carbocicteine good for getting the mucus up off the chest, personally cannot see how this could effect the heart but the best person to ask is your GP.
