Pulmonary fibrosis. Quick question

Hi everyone. Hope your all having a good week end. Quick question. I have pulmonary fibrosis & I can usually walk to my car without being out of breath. The last couple of days I've been struggling to do that. Can you have bad days like I do with my rheumatoid arthritis? Will I get back to how I was? Xx

Hi Gailkings,

I have IPF and find I DO have bad days, usually either weather or infection related.

Will we ever return to how we used to be???? I wish............................................ one can only dream.

Acceptance is an issue here I think, and a lot of us need to remember, accept what is NOW, you can still get to the car -----that's a good thing.

Hope that was short and sweet enough for you, wishing you well, Linda.

Oh no I know I won't return to pre PF but I meant would I return to how I was last week. I could walk a good 100yds but at the mo 50yds is too far!

Do you get flare ups with PF for no apparent reason. Xx

Gailkings.

I meant last week, yesterday, whenever...

Flare-ups, sounds more like Fibro terminology ?

Sudden egsaserbation (sp) possibly? very definitely, down to the infection again methinks.

I am having a rough time with an infection at moment, trying to keep out of hospital, respiratory failure (again)........ so am a bit 10-1

Hi Gailkings,

My experience with IPF is like yours. I have some bad days when I worry in case my condition is deteriorating and then a few days later I am back to where I was before. For me, if I have an active day I find that for the next few days I am wiped out and can do very little without being exhausted. Hopefully you will find that things improve if you take it easy for a few days.

Best Wishes,

Helen

Thanks Helen6 that's exactly the answer I was hoping for. Lol. I've been a little busy the last week helping with my daughters surprise hen do which was yesterday so I've been quite busy. Hopefully resting for a few days will sort me out. Thank you.
