Patients suffering from emphysema increasingly have problems during breathing. Their respiratory capacity diminishes severely and even simple physical tasks become overwhelming obstacles.

Now there is an innovative and proven minimally invasive treatment available.

Zephyr® Endobronchial Valves can help patients breathe more freely again.(Am J Respir Crit Care Med 191;2015:A6312.)

Clinical studies show patients benefit from improvement in quality of life, respiratory

function and exercise capacity.(N Engl J Med. 2015;373(24):2325-2335.)

How does Endoscopic Lung Volume Reduction work?

During the 60-minute procedure, 3-5 Zephyr valves (The valves are approximately 4 mm in diameter and 10 mm long.)   are placed in airways leading to the diseased region of the lung.

The goal is to reduce the volume of the diseased parts of the lung so that healthier areas can function more efficiently.
