Some plants improve the air quality in the home, which is good news for all of us with copd and other breathing problems, one is the english ivy ( hedera helix) & the peace lily.
Just google plants for improving air quality for a full list.

Oh I have a lovely Peace Lily sitting in the room. From my memory what we commonly refer to as the Spider Plant is good too.
I have a jungle of plants in my bungalow; btown, for that exact same reason...just a pity Tarzan didn't come with them though I doubt he could swing from peace lily to peace lily which stand on either side of my fireplace, even though they do look quite robust.
I've 'George' he's 10 ft and then his Son 'Little George' he's 8ft and then there's grandson George III, a baby at 5 ft... Giant Swiss Cheese Plants that are growing happily in the Conservatory.
Along with various Cacti; quite prickly little devils they are. Several spider plants with offspring attached....the Peace Lilies, pots of Ivy ...Oh the list goes on.
I've sort of accumulated all sorts of plants over the years as I've moved around, plus I'm one of those folk with extra green fingers, so even a stick would grow leaves if I stuck it in soil !!
So my air should be super scrubbed clean and oxygenated...I've no idea if it is, but having so many plants brings me great pleasure.
The Oxygen well it's an added bonus and more than welcome!
- brilliant thanks btown - I had heard about that previously and you've just spurred me on to put getting plants to top of my list!! I will ask at garden center about which ones are easiest to maintain.
