Hi after ct scans and pet scans they have found a lump in my lung they dont think its cancer but they also don't know what it is. Its been classes as hot and ive been told it needs removing asap. My consultant said it should be next week and asked if I had any questions but couldn't think of any at the time as was also told they need to test for lymphoma in my neck as also showed something on the scan.

Ive no idea whats involved in the lung op im waiting for the specialist nurse yo call at some point. Can anyone help have any idea how long I will be in hospital for what's involved just anything really.

many thanks linda

I had a lump removed in February this year in Guys which turned out to be an Asperglima (not sure of spelling) I know they were surprised to find it but I was just glad it wasn't anything else. I was in for just 9 days and quite honestly after some of the surgery I have had this wasn't that bad. I did have a drain in which is a bit sore and you need to watch out for constipation with some of the drugs they give you but all in all it wasn't that bad. Good luck to you and best wishes

I think we are all the same when it comes to Doctors asking 'do you have any questions' . Perhaps you could start a list of things that you would like to know and keep it by the phone, ready for the call from the specialist nurse. Wishing you all the best and lots of luck

Hello Florida 2015. I went through very similar problems 5 years ago and was told the same as yourself. During my operation it was established that the lump was cancerous and therefore I had a lobe removed from my right lung (lobectomy). I was in the hospital for 7 days and then sent home. Fortunately I am still in the land of the living but it did take quite some time to recover. I wish you well and hope everything goes smoothly for you.
