My Dads fight is finally over

Have posted the odd time here in recent months about my dad who had bronchiectasis and COPD. He's had lots of admissions to hospital in recent months with 9 IV antibiotics within 3 months. His struggle is finally over as he slipped away from us on Tuesday evening. All his family was present and it was peaceful. He was retaining carbon dioxide which made him very drowsy, he just left us peacefully. We're heartbroken as we prepare to bury him today. This forum helped me find answers about my dads illness, invaluable during the past three months. Thank you everyone.

I'm ever so sorry to hear of your father passing away. It's never easy at this time but his suffering is over and no more pain. My thoughts are with you today. RIP. Xx

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I am however pleased all his family were there at the time. I am sure that it is what he would have wanted. I am thinking of you today. Be comforted that he is no longer suffering. God bless you. M x

I am really sorry to hear your sad news. He is at peace now, no more fighting and struggling to breathe. He is in a better place. He will still be alive in your memories and thoughts and one day you will be with him again. Thinking of you and sending you my prayers. xx

& I'm sure he appreciated it.How lovely that he passed,with his family with him,he would have been so proud of you.

My dad was 84 in December and only diagnosed with bronchiectasis 2 years ago. Amazingly he was driving and working up until last September. He fought hard but it was not to be.
