Take your time, relax and enjoy a good read........THEN IT'S WINTER

.......................................Then it's Winter

You know...Time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way , it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went . I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But here it is ,...The winter of my life and it catches me by surprise.....How did I get here so fast? where did the years go and where did my youth go?. I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is.......my friends are retired and getting grey....they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me....But I see the great change.........Not like the ones that remember who were young and vibrant.......but like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now these older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day ! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore....it's mandatory ! Cause if I don't on my own free will.........I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so...now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did !! But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last.....this I know, that when it is over on this earth, it's over. A new adventure will begin!

Yes I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done....things I should have done, but indeed there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not in your winter yet......let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So whatever you accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don't put thins off too long !!

Life goes by to qwuickly.so, do what you can today, as you can never be sure wether this is you're winter or not ! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life........so live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember.....and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done in all the years past!!

'Life' is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after.

Make it a fantastic one.

Hi dear kotc, I really have enjoyed reading your page. I believe everyone has some regrets I shouldn't have done this. So many things you done and still do, that makes a live worthy sure everyone will change somehow, but will be the same, if we don't di changes in our live. In the past there have been many thing a not easier than now. But also new things came and go. Live is sometimes like living on stage all day a new thing to do or need change, also be a part of friends you or everyone has a role in his live to play, till the show is over. But so long we fight there is always hope that humanity will exist. And this is live sometimes so pretty and beautiful but also sad and painful. I do have still fun and suffering but I still like to enjoy the time I have, god knows what will come. We all do have hopes and shall never lose it :)

Three guys are at the gates of Heaven, and God tells them, "We have a special today! If you died a terrible death, you're in for free." So God asks the first guy his story. "I was a hard working man and a loving husband, but I began to suspect that my wife was cheating on me. One day, I called in sick to work and left for home to hide and closely watch my apartment. I saw a man go in, and I decided to wait a few minutes to catch them in the act. Then, I started banging on my door. They wouldn't open it, so I broke down the door and walked in to see my wife sitting naked, but the man wasn't in sight. I went to the balcony, where I saw a naked man hanging on the edge. I began to stomp on his hands until he fell down, but there were bushes, so I got my fridge and tossed it on him. In the process of tossing the fridge, I also fell over and died." God replies, "Wow, that's pretty bad, finding out your wife cheated and falling off your balcony. You pass." The second guy says, "God, my only crime was that I enjoyed dancing naked in my apartment while eating pickles out of the jar. I was doing just that one day, when I slipped on a pickle and fell over my balcony. Luckily, I was able to grab on to the ledge below mine. After a few minutes, a man came and I thought he was going to rescue me, but he began to stomp on my hands. I fell, but luckily, I fell into the bushes. I thought I had survived, but that man threw a fridge at me and I died!" God replies, "Wow, that's very cruel, being crushed to death." The third man says, "I died naked in a fridge."

Mustn't let the standard slip Joyce. Tell me if I do !

Your message left me feeling a little sad and thoughtful. It is a fair bet that I am older than you, King. I try to enjoy what is left of life, but at the same time, mystified how quickly time goes by. Thinking about it can lead to very negative feelings, but quite hard to be positive when you want to relive memories.

People that believe in faith and religon seem to be better composed but I cant make myself belief in God if I am honest.

However, get on enjoy the test of life if poss!!

Dear KOTC, food for thought indeed.

Why is it the older you get the faster time seems to pass, when I was young an hour felt like an eternity, now its over in a flash.

King your post was very poignant. I felt a little sad reading it but, it does cover a lot of thoughts I often have. I try to do as much as I can to enjoy life but, unfortunately I'm not physically able to do the things i'd like. But I laugh so much with my little grandkids that it makes my life worthwhile! M

I am still reading your blog, King, and it did rock my boat. You only said what is in my mind, but it did damage my positivity to enjoy what is left of my life. I am feeling very bad about Brian's

health so a dirty joke, please xxxxx

Hi king, I think it is the season of misty eyes and sepia memories. I can only really reflect when feeling upbeat or it can be very sad. Chloe keeps me focused on the future so I am very lucky. :-) :-) Alison
