But not advisable for those of us on medication that thin the blood and lower blood pressure, according to several authoritative websites.

Turmeric as a high dose supplement isn't recommended with various cardiac medications , although turmeric in small amounts in food is acceptable.I used to take turmeric before I had cardiac problems.

It didn't help with most types of inflammation or pain that I had , but it did improve my digestion which is why I continued with it , but I stopped taking turmeric and garlic because of the potential drug interactions once I began heart medications.

Do you have to take any cardiac medication?

Hi -Yes I do . Meds for :Blood pressure /statin/ angina / low dose aspirin . I cannot take beta blockers but do take the calcium one (?) as I had cardiac arrest / heart block as my own sinus node / pacemaker is faulty . Now have a pacemaker . Bloods checked every three months . No problems . Cardiac ct scan with contrast dye last Feb - showed no problems. Curcumin advised by a consultant for reducing inflammation- especially arthritis. I’ve been taking it for years . It seems to work for me . Good to hear views that suggest otherwise- many thanks :)
